Soweto ride - 7 February 2010
Some pics from the road route.
Briefing by Johan Maree
At Soccer City
Orlando Power station - at one time the largest on the continent (info courtesy of Johan Maree)
Dorothy was riding the R1200S for today and I was riding her R1200GS.....
Then on to Lebo's for a good buffet breakfast...
Very well spent morning - with excellent vetkoek and jam.
Defintively better than Babelegi!!

Agreed! Better than Babelegi and just as good as any 'little falls' trip! Does it always have to be about sight seeing! There's so much more to our day to day being, and our immediate experiences.
Johan, thank you for a faaaantastic trip (again!). Lebo's was a great experience, the ride well worth it and the reception and cheering by the locals, particularly the little kids - I felt like 'sports bike queen'!

Oh and one more thing... Just in case anyone was wondering.... I loved the 'S' today. It's a completely different ride, great for my new 'short distance' trips - Magalies, Kromdraai, here I come.
Let it be known though... I can give up my chocolates, I can give up my red wine (and chips ), I can give up my.... but I can NEVER give up my GS!!! [Sigh!!!] Waar is die wittetjie nou!

Re: Soweto ride - 7 February 2010
Johan, thanks for a different and great ride, to do things with the club and friends that one would not normally do alone is what makes every trip a memorable event. To have 29 bikes on a ride tells the story. Once again the disciplined riding, courtesy amongst the people and the laughter we experienced makes the club what it is.
