The Soweto (true) GS experience
Hi everyone,
Just to confirm that there will indeed be a route especially for the GS-oriented club members. It is going to be a true GS experience with a healthy dose of tar and gravel and trails mixed up nicely.
The plan is to depart from Atterbury Shell Sunday 7 February 2010, 07:00 for 07:30. Johan and I will flip a coin to see which group leaves first We will then be making our way towards Krugersdorp on the black stuff and then take the tracks into the heart of the old gold mine country. We will be working our way up north-west and hit some tar on the way to Lebo's where we will be enjoying brunch and beers!
This is absolutely amazing GS country with a little bit of every type of terrain, which will leave you thoroughly satisfied, and wanting more.
A couple of us went on a recce last weekend (just after heavy rains) and even then the entire off-road section stays within a 2 and 3 rating.
See you there, and remember your camera!
You can get more info on the venue in Johan's post

Sounds good! Does the black stuff include long stretches of the N14? If so, we might need to leave early to find a 125 friendly route?

Haai nooit! Die club ride is pillion-friendly!
Na die tyd kan ons besluit om verby die "dunes" te gaan. Lekker om te kyk hoe speel die ouens daar as jy nie self bietjie wil speel nie.

The truth is the fear of pushing many bikes out of the mud.
