Poll: Where would you like the monthly Club socials to be held?

Over the last fifteen years, our Club has enjoyed the privilege of having a Clubhouse with an office,
bar/social area and, in the last few years, also an outside deck!

Unfortunately, with the move of Bavarian Motorcycles to Centurion in a month or three, we have to revisit our options.

Neither Bavarian East nor Zambesi Motorrad can offer us clubhouse facilities similar to that which we enjoy at the moment.

The Committee has received an invitation from Bavarian Centurion to relocate to their new premises,
where similar facilities could be made available.

The Committee would like you to take part in the poll in order to help with the decision?

Yes. There are several open spaces, nooks & corners

Centurion will also be better for us, coming from JHB

Although I like the idea of starting club rides from the various three different dealership locations (enjoyed the coffee and muffins at Zambezi), I think the loyalty of free meals, dedicated club space and general embracement of the club by Bavarian - yes, with mutual benefits! - deserve a return loyalty from us.

Agree, a no-brainer and I like the more central position. Also easy to pop into KTM next door...

Club rides starting from different places is not too much of an issue, but imagine the confusion if the meetings were at a different place each month. If you were not at the previous meeting or did not get a correspondence as to where the next meeting is you may end up at the wrong location.

With meetings at the same venue each month, you just need to pitch up on the correct day - you know where it is each month.

Have no loyalty to other dealerships. Bavaria have been very good to our club.

A Hall or clubhouse will not be as good as a Motorcycle dealership with bikes and accessories to drool over.

I'll have to leave early to get there - probably do a round trip if the traffic not too bad

I believe Bavarian have offered the club facilities of comparable size, so why debate alternate venues that will cost the club money. The new premises being adjacent to the John Voster offramp is great in terms of accessibilty.
This will also be an ideal place to start rides from.

Dave, just a word of warning do not get lost in the traffic circle.

Absolutely. I have already had some rides leaving from the Total garage at this centre. Mainly privately organised rides, but our Namibia ride also started from there in December. Very convenient location - and as said earlier, a 'no brainer'

However, that said, the committee needs to ensure that it acting in accordance with the wishes of the members so it is only right that a 'process' is followed to ensure that happens and that the members wishes are taken into account.

I am confindent that most will opt to move to Centurion. . Then I can walk to meetings!

That's an idea, tj and Gemmerkat can like to put their baaiks on the Gautrain to get to Bavarian in style! That new GT is old already, he'll need to save on km's soon...

I also spoke to Roger, he has provided for space already. He also wants to set up a sort of breakfast spot (muffins or whatever) for peoples to stop on the way to work in the morning, sounds nice!

Same starting point, same time every month for the Sunday Rides. That’s my suggestion. We want the club to be, the “lekkerste” So, as little confusion as possible is a good start. Also if we start at the same point as the Club Meetings, even better.

Wish it was that easy... We'll have to ride past the Centurion shop to Sandton, via Magaliesburg to get to the station at Sandton to load our bikes for the departure from Centurion on a Sunday breakfast, on the Friday???
