Re: Marnus and his 1200 are taking a break
Eish!! Sorry to hear about the bashing, always 'not a good thing'.
All the best with the op, and a speedy recovery. I know all too well the frustration of not being able to ride for an extended period of time---TWICE!!!
Unfortunately, car drivers in general, don't give a stuff about anybody else on the roads, even fellow idiots!!! All drivers should be made to ride a bike for 3 months as part of their licence test, might lead to more bike awareness, and fewer 'I did not see you' incidents.

Good luck with the recovery!!! Hope it will be shorter than three months.
Re: Marnus and his 1200 are taking a break
Been there, done that and got a thousend T-shirts. Mine was my left shoulder bone going down to the arm. Took me 5 months to recover, but still have a problem with the shoulder.
Anyway good luck, hope your recovery is good and quick.

Marnus and his 1200 are taking a break... NOT :-)
Ok... went for x-rays and follow-up to the doctor this morning and it seems that I'm nearly as fit as a fiddle again
The doctor is of the opinion that I should rather avoid the serious off-road stuff for another 6 weeks, but road/gravel riding is OK for now!
Interesting fact - when the bone is finally healed (about 3 months after the break), it will be around 90% its original strength because of the screws that introduce new weak spots. If (touch wood) I should have another hard fall on my right shoulder, chances are that it will be more likely to break at one of the two end screws. If I want the plate removed, I'll have to wait another 5 months, with another 3 after that operation for the screw holes to be filled again. I don't think I will be going that route soon
Speaking about route... you'll hopefully see more of me on the bike than in the bar from now

So that means we can go and do Sambok this weekend. I found a nice gravel road on the mountain
