Re: Marquard overnighter - 10/11 October 2009
Jip, as is clear from all the reports/comments so far we had a wonderful ride following an experienced frontrunner! Thanks Dave for the excellent brainwave at Reitz to do the Kestell-Phuthaditjaba (Witsieshoek)-Clarens route instead of going directly via Bethlehem.
Coming back had tests of a different kind. Since it rained in different parts of the Freestate on Sunday, the challenge was to come back home as dry as possible. We managed to do so by checking out the weather bureau’s “old” real time website on the iPhone. This website is:
http://www.weathersa.co.za/Imagery/ShowRadarMap.jsp?map=68263
In Marquard we used the Freestate image. (To get there, click on Radar Images on the website)
To interpret what you’re seeing, go to:

(And Dave, TJ might be right about admin and the T thing!? You're not off the hook that easily with your Freudian slip. I suggest you get the T (in the heading) in upper case to quell raised expectancies among bachelors in the future since I suspect this one not to be the last quickie to a nice dorpie.)
