Our trip to Namaqua land watching flowers
Our trip to Namaqua land started on a rather cool day and it was cold in Coligny.
We traveled from Pretoria to Upington and stayed at the Eiland resort.
We were ready to leave the next morning to Springbok
We stopped at Augrabies and it was really worth it.
Wee booked in at the Springbok Lodge and Restaurant and stayed there from the Sunday night to the Friday morning.
On the Monday we saw some spectacular views of the flowers.
The next day was on hell of a day with rain and Gail force winds so the Alexanderbay border was the next stop the 4 corners.
Then there was a very nice seafood platter on the menu in Port Nolloth which was irresistible.
The three of us did survive the trip to tell the stories. At one stage it was raining very hard with a gail force wind from the side and the temperature was 6 degrees Celcius.
We had to wait till the cold frond passed, because the flowers stay closed while the cold front is there. We did some site seeing and speak to this very interesting local whose wife’s nick name is Marie Exhaust.
When the cold front left whet went to Skilpad and took hundreds of nice fotos.
We were very happy and returned via Kimberley, stopping at the Big hole.

WOW! Sooooo many flowers! I think it's the best time to do Alexander Bay. At least something to look forward to
PS. I don't think I've EVER read a ride report where the wind was not blowing like hell en route to Alexander Bay!
