Watter Bande??
Ek sien hierdie vraag nogal gereeld op verskeie forums. Die antwoorde is net so legio as die verskeie bandvervaardigers en band tipes.
Met my R1200RT het ek geglo in Bridgestone Battleaxe. Omdat veiligheid vir my belangriker is as geld het ek elke 10,000Km's 'n agterband vervang, alhoewel ek seker nog 'n 1,000 plus uit die band kon kry. Die voorband is elke 20,000Km's vervang.
Met my 800ST het ek weer geglo in Michelen Road Pilots. Agterband is vervang op so 15,000Km's.

Re: Watter Bande??
Well done Christo I wish I got such good mileage out of tires!
I think the factors that work against me are:
I tend to pull away quickly, spin on gravel, brake quickly (which eats petrol and tires)
I run them a bit flatter than the recommended 3.3 / 3.6 bar, because I'm lazy when it comes to inflate/deflate when going on/off tar roads.
The factory fitted rear tire (not the knobbly version) on the GS lasted just over 10,000 and I could have gone a bit further but had to return from Cape Town to Pretoria and didn't want to take any chances. The front tire changed on 15,000 (just before the Sani trip )
So I guess if you are religious about running the correct tire pressure for the surface, gently pull away and gently brake, you would get the best mileage out of your tires.
But I don't want mileage... I want happy experiences out of my tires

Re: Watter Bande??
I normally use Metseler on the LT - gives yiou the best value for money whilst not losing road holding capability/quality. I normally get between 15 000 and 20 000 km on a back wheel depending on city travelling and how hard i go off or not.
Weight of the LT tends to eat the tyre a bit. The front tyre (Metseler) i normally get roughly 20 000km. Principle hear - play around untilll you get the perfect match with regards to tyres that works best for what you want and your riding style.

Re: Watter Bande??

Ek trek normaal weg sonder skielike versnelling. Op die N2 is my spoed so tussen 120 en 140. In die dorp ry ek die voorgestelde spoed.

Suzuki Toy Store in Centurion sell Michelin Anakee 2 combos for 1200 GS and the GSA for R1850-00. Meaning you get the front and the back for this price
