To all the people who did not vote...
....thanks for helping the ANC to achieve their two thirds majority so they can make any changes they want unopposed!!
I trust that we will not hear you complain about the government in the future.
(well anyway - at the moment it looks like they are going to scrape in with just over two thirds - although I still hope it does not happen.)

My voting excersise took less than 15min !!!
I must say that at the polling station where I went to vote, it was very fast and very efficiant and quite painless. Well done to the IEC for doing a good job there.

Yes - we went late in the afternoon and it took less than 20 minutes. I tend to agree with Dave. Enough said. Suppose Shabir will be our next minister of finance - seeing as he has proved himself to be more than ???????.

Do yourselves a favour and pull the results for your voting station, then you get an idea of the politics of your neighbours

Re: To all the people who did not vote...
Tx, that is interesting. I see my vote was part of only 140. Shows you the power of one. I guess. But could make the difference between 1 seat or not.
I get bored typing this, prefer another seat...

Re: To all the people who did not vote...
Couldn’t agree more with Dave.
Further more, the official stats rave about a 80% turnout at the voting booth. That is calculated on the people that registered to vote. These stats exclude people that could vote but chose not to register. If you include these "silent people" in the calculation you will see a different story. Closer to 50% of the people that did cast a vote. Now these people are the people that need to think a few times before they complain.

Re: To all the people who did not vote...
Luckily they just missed it I shows that more people voting for other parties would have made it a lot less close.
Let's hope that none of the smaller parties form a coalition with them to still give them their 2/3!!

Re: To all the people who did not vote...
Thankfully the smaller parties do not have enough seats to make up the 2/3 for the ANC.
With a bit more time, Cope will take more votes from the ANC, hopefully.

Just a pity that there are still so many people with the mindset that their vote won't make a difference.
I think that they could have made a fair difference in this election. Sincerely hope that they have a rethink come elections in 5 years time.
