Besides the mud, it was also a wet ride too.

Re: And then there was water - again - GS pics
Tx everyone, I also enjoyed my first ride with the club, felt very welcome as a newbie. After riding in the rain on Friday, then running in the rain on Saturday morning, plus the rain we got on the way back from Rooiberg, flu finally got hold of me and took me out this week so I only now saw the pics and reports.
When I left home on Sunday morning and looked at the threatening weather, I wondered whether I was going to be the only one - something that happens quite frequent on my own rides with friends - but I was quite shocked to see the number of GS's already waiting. Surprised to eventually have only one Dakar, the three 800's, the lonely 80 and the rest being the heavyweights? Where were the X-Challenges and other variants of 650's?
I soon figured out why some people were stopping at turns... was confused at first then realised it's a cool system.
...and then we got to my favourite road sign! Well, the other way round actually, but never mind. Also learned that some people 'drop' their tyre pressure to 2.2 bar, guess we all do different courses...
And so we proceeded on the red stuff, quite mellow and no dust. Surely can't get worse?
Soon this yellow GS (BTW, why don't people call 650's and 800's a GS...?) went down just ahead of me and I nearly went over it! Note to self: INCREASE FOLLOWING DISTANCE...
And so the fun proceeded...
Followed by the faithful and skilful sweep...
With the obstacles becoming slightly more challenging, turning a no. 1.5 ride into a no. 3.
Bruno's before and after pics... Looked like he was in some slight discomfort...
A last stop - I just love my 800!
At Rooiberg the Pigs clubbed together...
After the great brunch at the Koekepan, we all seemed to go back on different routes - I followed Pieter and Etienne because they chased the gravel options in true GS spirit! I still want to know where we lost the top box...??
Can't wait for the next one!!!!
