"From MCN UK
MotoGP in crisis!
By Liam Marsden

MotoGP series owners holding emergency crisis talks.
Over the Christmas period Kawasaki quit MotoGP due to the credit crunch, leaving riders John Hopkins and latest recruit Marco Melandri uncertain as to whether they will have a ride in 2009.
Ducati has also been forced to rethink its 2009 line-up, due to rumours that main-sponsor Alice has withdrawn."
sad news indeed. Seems like BMW made the correct choice when opting to go racing in the WSBK series instead of the MotoGP

Yes, the world recession is taking it's toll. When a team like Honda withdraws from F1, one realises how tough it is out there

Not good, a sad day indeed. Having such an event back in SA was indeed something to look forward to. Question now - how many teams are saying this, and will the GP be cancelled.

Re: Global economic situation affecting MotoGP
The event in SA is the Superbike series (WSBK), not the MotoGP, so we should not be affectedLeRoy Olivier wrote:Not good, a sad day indeed. Having such an event back in SA was indeed something to look forward to. Question now - how many teams are saying this, and will the GP be cancelled.
