Automatic chain lubrication system
Is this cool or what?
Scottoiler recently developed an automatic chain lubrication system - The kit is made up of a Reservoir Metering Valve (RMV), an injector (which feeds the oil onto the chain and sprocket) and a 500ml bottle of Scottoil suitable for approximately 8,000 kilometers.
There is a catalogue on the website's Technical page with more info.
Ian Reid is a member of BMW MCC Central and also the local agent for Scottoiler.
He offered to put the products on display one evening at Club night - -
It means you dont have to lubricate the chain every 500kms?

Re: Automatic chain lubrication system
"...recently developed..."
From Wikipedia:
"Scottoiler is a motorcycle chain lubrication system produced by Scottoilers (Scotland) Ltd.
Fraser Scott invented the Scottoiler between 1977 and 1983.
Fraser Scott came up with the idea when he was commuting from Glasgow to Manchester.
Suzuki had released the vacuum fuel tap, and he was tired of the traditional method of removing the drive chain and boiling it in a pan of wax.
The product has been available since 1986."
I still remember the greasy pan method...how to totally p*** off your wife by using the oven!
