How to keep the valuable stickers Empty How to keep the valuable stickers

Nothing is forever, but some things are worth keeping!

Having to sell my 650GS and consequently the panniers too, it was sad to know I have to part with the few stickers on my panniers, collected abroad. They were evidence of my trips to Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia – meaningless to the new owner.

This is to notify you, the hairdryer trick worked! The heat made them come loose effortlessly. They’re all posted on glass now (an old not-in-use picture frame glass) that will go on the garage wall next to the map and pins of all the places I’ve visited by bike.

Thanks to those who suggested this alternative use of the hairdryer!

Another thing that works is Doom. Although it does not remove paper stickers but works very well on the others.

I am interested in the paniers (and topbox) if they are sold without the bike. Maybe the new owner would not want a bike with panniers. Just a thoaght thou

instead of removing the stickers you could just frame the paniers. Very Happy

Ja, holding on to the memories is always a problem. Maybe there is method in he madness of other bike clubs for having the badges on a waistcoat instead. The late Bucc (Brian Cannoo) introduced this concept to our club with limited success. Must say, coming from another club where this was normal, I have mine with all the badges I collected over the years of going to rallies and other events, with the BMW Club PTA's big round badge proudly on the back Very Happy

Always buy more than one sticker - simple as that.

Yep.. agree. I will do that in future.
At least I could save these.
On the other hand: you cant put a Botswana sticker on the new bike if you havent been to Botswana with the new bike... just have to go there again, I guess?
