Very close to Cuppa Café. Pass Cuppa and travel east on Ruimte. At the first robot past Cuppa, turn right in Rooihuiskraal Road. Go around 2 traffic circles and turn right into Hendrik Verwoerd which is at the first robot in Rooihuiskraal Road. Enter the mall’s parking area to your left.

So, Kroompie got hit in traffic this morning.

I was in the fast lane. I saw that the lane up ahead was closed so I moved into a gap in the middle lane.
Stupid idiot with his little piece of sh*t car, also in the fast lane behind me, tried to fit in behind me in the same gap??? It was barely enough for one vehicle and he tries to fit in there too.
Obviously not realising that all lanes were coming to a stand still because one lane was closed.
So the guy in front of me start breaking, so I start breaking. Everything normal.

Next thing I just heard screaming tyres, felt a bump to the back of the bike and the rear yerked to the right (hit me on the left side of the back tyre). Rear locked up and bike was wobbling all over the road.

First thing I did was look for a safe place to fall...lol.

Anyway, quickly released the rear, bike stabilized (not sure how i kept it up) and I pulled off the side of the hiway. This all happened at about 70-80 km/h (luckily) cause traffic was coming to a stand still.

First thing I thought after I stopped...I DIDN'T FALL...THANK YOU LORD.
After that...I AM GONNE KILL THIS IDIOT!!!!

Luckily the tow truck guy was there to calm me down. (The other guy didn't even get out of his car till he saw I was calm...LOL). Doesn't seem to be any damage to the bike, tyre has a few skid marks (from his bumper...lol) and chain feels a little loose. Will take it to Honda so they can make sure.

WOW, what an earie feeling to suddenly feel your back tyre being knocked to one side...i almost sh*t myself. Had to wedge my ass loose from the seat to get off...hehe.

Really glad i didn't fall, cause they have those chevron signs everywhere next to the closed lane...would have taken a few of those out with me and that would have hurt. Either that or end up in the back of a truck...can't quite decide.

Thanks for breakie everyone, it was great to be back and see all the usual faces again.

I don't think this is our final breakie spot, still not 100% what we are looking for. Good friends make any situation positive though!!

ok Wimpy Mall at Reds it will be again this Friday 23/01/09 at 06:45

both Dave and myself had talks with Aviator next to Toit's butchery in Logan Street/Ave and they are eager to welcome us. However they are still busy re-arranging their restaurant and requested that we only start from next week.......we can discuss tomorrow.

so, see you all (in numbers) tomorrow for a nice "before work" biker breakfast!.......no exclusions, no limitations, no automatic disqualification......if you can like bikes, this is the place for you Wink
