Re: More on 3Wheelers
I was in Cullinan over the weekend, and saw something I wish I could take a picture of - the guy passed me just to quickly. It was a Harley trike with a massive trailer and on the trailer was a beautifully adorned and crafted coffin!! If anyone sees this guy around, please take a picture and post it here.
Methinks the coffin was just a clever way of hiding his tools and spares for the Harley...

Re: More on 3Wheelers
What do you suppose would the idea be with the coffin? Maybe he is an undertaker...

Re: More on 3Wheelers
methinks he relizes the dangers of motorcycling. He is riding with his "next home" with him so to speak .........
maar ek praat lekker str#$nt so op 'n Woensdagmiddag.
All a publicity stunt.....and he is succeeding, he draws attention wherever he goes. Suppose the American flag explains it all

Re: More on 3Wheelers
No - defrays from the bike principle - might as well ride a Golf or some other small compact. Will completely ?????? up the feeling of freedom the bike gives you. The guy with the coffin trike - saw him at the 2006 Buffalo Rally - thank heavens he used a Harley - at least he did not mutilate a decent bike in the process. LeRoy

Re: More on 3Wheelers
I wouldn't call this mutilation...?
Close your eyes, Le Roy...!
or an RT...
Now seriously, these machines are made for people who like to ride, but have some physical challenge makes it difficult or impossible to ride conventional 2-wheelers...
It floats their boat, so it's OK with me...
This one is built for bikers in wheelchairs:

Re: More on 3Wheelers
By the way, BMW has been developing a 3-wheeler with the University of Bath.
It's called the CLEVER concept.
See http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmws-clever-concept-completed.html
and it looks rather like another earlier vehicle, the Carver:

Re: More on 3Wheelers
One should take a very dull knife and go and visit the idiots that does this to a Beemer. No problem with Harleys and suchlike. It is like mixing ice-cream and ???? - does nothing for the latter but buggers up the ice-cream. Cannot understand why one would want to ride a trike - presume the main reason is because the guy cannot ride a bike - suppose he never got past the training wheels phase. LeRoy

Re: More on 3Wheelers
May I most friendly suggest that anyone who wants to 'diss' trikes and such, take a short visit to the following website to meet some of the idiots that do this to a Beemer....
http://www.nabd.org.uk/
"Cannot understand why one would want to ride a trike - presume the main reason is because the guy cannot ride a bike - suppose he never got past the training wheels phase."
Many of these bikers with disabilities got well beyond the training wheels phase before an external factor entered the fray...
"Wheelchair Users (bilateral amputation, paraplegia, MS, reduced mobility in legs, balance problems, etc):
With these types of disability one obvious problem is that of stability, which usually means the addition of a third road wheel whether this be in the form of a motorcycle/sidecar combo or a trike."
Here's to the guys who help riders with disabilities!

Think it's great. Without such conversions, they will never be able to ride again

If that is the case - then they have my full blessing, and i will always admire their tenacity and will power to carry on doing what they want to do without allowing technical issues to prevent them from doing it. LeRoy
