Ludwig's Rose Garden Valentines Run
Thanks Sue for organising a really great outing.
A great turnout despite the bad weather - rain and strong winds
A stop off and leg stretch
The stars of the day
Entrance to Ludwig's Rose Farm
Beautiful Roses everywhere - stunning !
The man himself - giving some advice
The winning Valentine couple - check out Frik's T-shirt - now that's planning ahead !!!
Thanks Sue for a great morning and ABE for being sweep.

Re: Ludwig's Rose Garden Valentines Run
Wat is die bestandele van 'n suksesresep?
- 'n Spesiale dag Valentynsdag... of sommer enige dag!
- Deur 'n spesiale persoon Sue, you did it again!
- 'n Deeglike roetebeplanning Die roete was weer puik beplan, gerecce
Dankie Drix, baie dankie

Re: Ludwig's Rose Garden Valentines Run
Tx everyone for making Laurie feel so welcome, she enjoyed it, even the obligatory (told her it's the 'shortcut') gravel on the way home! I enjoyed the route Sue, never been around that way, well done on planning and leading the ride, and breakfast was great.
Was told off though... "Don't think I didn't see us doing 180 passing that car! 140 was fine staying behind it?!" No use explaining we're on knobblies and can't go that fast, the speedo is out, it was a downhill...
So nice to see somebody finding their first cache and 'getting it'! Most people still think I'm mad... Just to set the record straight, when I saw there was an entrance fee I wanted to abort. However, mr TJ rallied the troops and the next moment we were handed the required fee, now the pressure was on! I got quite nervous when we couldn't find it quickly enough, but our perseverance paid off - the look on Gemmerkat's face priceless. So ja Johan, if you can't beat us, join us!!

Re: Ludwig's Rose Garden Valentines Run
Heavies Geoff and Deon talk bike.
After the grueling morning ride, an excited Geoff can't wait to sip the delicate rose and pomegranate infused soda, complete with a selection of Ludwig's finest elegant rose petals.
If the shutter release mechanism on the compact camera used to capture this intense moment was not so delayed, this forum would have seen Geoff pulling a daring no-hander, albeit a brief one.
END!

Re: Ludwig's Rose Garden Valentines Run
*sigh* It would have been so nice to join you folks.
Went to watch Avatar instead. I must say it beats a bunch of rose bushes any time of day...
... except on Valentines day!
Well done! Nice pictures too.

Re: Ludwig's Rose Garden Valentines Run
Uh! got the hang of this photo thing!!!!!!!!!!! Still more to come.
Thanks to every single one of you that came along and made the day absolutely special, and for your wonderful comments on the route.
I was told that a rumble was heard from the time that we entered the gate, the guests in the restaurant went completely quiet not knowing what to expect, as we arrived in awe.
The lady in yellow was honoured by our visit and had never experienced such a magnificent arrival to Ludwig's. She requested that we not only visit for an occasion but to come along more often.
Great ride and great people made it happen.
