Trailer to borrow/hire?
Me & my best half just finished our planning for our Cape Town/ West Coast trip in March,
ending at the Bikefest in Oudtshoorn. Is anybody willing to lend or hire us a trailer for our
Adventure? Ja-ja, I know some of you will call us sissies, but as we have to get some bulky stuff
to my son in Stellenbosch, we're forced to use the car to get there.
Our dates are 11/3 to 23/3.

Re: Trailer to borrow/hire?
Send the bulky stuff by courier, train, taxi...
...but keep the wife on the bike

Re: Trailer to borrow/hire?
Trailers should only be used for breakdowns / services.
Dont waste the opportunity to ride to Cape Town. Seems like a long way, but is really worthwhile. Did it in Dec and would do it again 2morrow.
The holiday starts when you leave home - not when you get there.
Go by bike !!

Re: Trailer to borrow/hire?
Ek het courier, taxi, bus, aerie, trein, net mooi alles probeer
maar sy is te groot!! Anyway, different strokes for
different okes, eerder saam met haar en 'n trailer
as alleen. Hoop nie ons word uit die klub gestem hieroor nie.

Re: Trailer to borrow/hire?
Rather take the bike on the trailer to use while you on holiday than go on holiday without the bike.

Re: Trailer to borrow/hire?
Dave, just to set the record straight;
the trailer I'm refering to is for my 1200
Adventure (same as yours?)
to do exactly as you suggest. The 'bulky stuff'
was meant as a bit of humour. Anyway,
thanks for the help; hope to see some of you
at the Bikefest for some awsome rides (on my
bike) and lekker kuier.

Re: Trailer to borrow/hire?
Cappie - no explanation needed. I have often taken the bike/s with on the trailer.
Usually when going to KZN on business if intending to stay there longer than the business part or if Dorothy is flying down later to join me. That way we have the bikes available to ride around when we want.
Taking the bikes on a trailer to rallies etc is another story altoghether.....
