CountryTrax goes independent!
For those of you who haven't seen the news yet... found on www.countrytrax.co.za
New Track for Country TRAX
Some exciting new developments are paving the way for Country TRAX to be fully recognized as an independent Off-Road Rider academy.
Country TRAX originated on a farm near Amersfoort, Mpumalanga, and became known as the BMW Off-Road Riding Academy, with Jan du Toit as chief instructor, for some 9 years. During this time, riders of all makes of bikes, from all walks of life have enjoyed the legendary hospitality of Jan and Elsie du Toit at their farm, whilst "Doubling their skills and halving their fears" on their motorcycles. Country TRAX grew naturally by responding to demand and formed academies in the Western Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Free State, creating a country wide network with the ability to replicate the renowned Country TRAX experience. Testimony to the relevance of the training for the enhancement of safety and fun on the motorcycle lies in the large number of participants who keep coming back. You don't know what you don't know until you find out, and then you cannot get enough learning fitted into one training session!
On 20 October 2009, BMW Motorrad SA announced that due to economic pressure and the resulting down turn in sales, and the perceived "dilution" of the BMW brand by Country TRAX hosting events for other brands, it has been decided at corporate level to focus all efforts on their core business (selling bikes) and scale down on non-core business of which the training forms part. Subsequently, some positive meetings resulted in BMW Motorrad releasing Country TRAX from its obligations related to the BMW Off-Road Riding Academy with immediate effect on 16 November 2009. Country TRAX requested the immediate release since it did not see the benefit of an extended notice period to either of the parties. Country TRAX expressed its gratitude to BMW Motorrad for their positive approach, enabling both organisations to direct their efforts to "core business" in future. Country TRAX has the safety and enjoyment of all riders of all bikes at heart, and will keep concentrating on the rider rather than the bike" going forward. It was also agreed that Country TRAX's courses will still be accepted as approved training by BMW Motorrad.
Country TRAX will retain its position as the yardstick for off-road training in South Africa. Plans are being made to expand our offering and increase the activity level of riders on a national basis. A new slogan: "learn, conquer, explore" aims at rewarding customer loyalty at levels that will result in a life long association with Country TRAX, through building higher levels of skill, activity, exposure and enjoyment where any rider feels comfortable and welcome. All of this compliments every BMW dealer's business objectives and in fact can form an integral part of their core business. Country TRAX will always nurture its long standing relationships with the BMW dealers and riders in its areas of operation, and will continue to seek relationships of supportive co-operation. Country TRAX will also develop new mutually beneficial, non-exclusive relationships with alternative dealers / manufacturers who see the benefit, without losing its core focus on the individual who attends the training course.
Country TRAX will continue to be the undisputed leader in Off-Road Riding training. We will always provide top notch service by keeping up the high standards of instructor selection, training and development at venues ideally suited to the training which is presented from a structured curriculum, all culminating in a safe and competent rider. Join us for the ride of your life and become part of this remarkable network at any of our great venues for Introductory, Weekend or Advanced Off-Road Riding training, Adventure Tours, or the Dirt Bike Fundamentals course. Go to www.countrytrax.co.za for all the information, and make your bookings at www.bikebookings.co.za.
Warm Regards,
Jan Du Toit and the Country TRAX team
