A tribute to Jamie - my photos
This evening I went through my photos of the trips I have done with our club.
So many of them were with Jamie & Stienie.
Just looking through them reminded me what a great guy he was !
Jamie was the best to have on any ride. He often rode at position 2 ,behind the ride leader ,then would wait for everyone to catch up and the go speeding past again to ride upfront. That K sounded GREAT as he rode past - gear after gear ! He was the first to go and look for someone who made a wrong turn.
Not often that you saw Stienie riding pillion, as she is a very capable rider herself. But didn't they look good together on a bike !
Jamie always did everything to perfection, including his photography. This taken at Champagne Sports Resort at the ABBG
One thing you NEVER saw was Jamie riding a dirty bike ! Even his 800GS was clean. Even on trips away, he'd get up early and clean his and Stienie's bikes. Now that's passion !
He was a MASTER at the Forum. His knowledge always amazed me.
I posted the pic below of me admiring a BM as a youngster. He immediately continued the thread asking people to identify the cars in the background
He was such a generous guy too.
The last ABBG, I didnt have a bike ( I'm known for getting rid of bikes just before big events !)
No problem to Jamie, he lend me his 800GS. I never knew how to Thank him for this.
Not only did he lend me the GS, half way down to the ABBG he asked me if I wanted to ride his K.
Who in their right mind would lend out their prized posession ? Jamie would.
The BEST bike I have ever ridden.
Jamie, you were a father, a husband, a passionate biker and a wonderful friend. Was an honour to have known you. Really going to miss you !

Re: A tribute to Jamie - my photos
Thank you for sharing your most fitting tribute, Deon.
I believe Jamie loved riding in position 2.
He knew the importance of signposting the right route to other riders.
It gave him the chance to check that all was OK with Stienie and others riding behind him...
...and it gave him the chance to zoom past and overtake everybody all over again on the way back up to the front to follow the leader again.
I see in that the similarities with his spiritual side.
Hamba gahle, Jamie!
