Re: Swartruggens Ride
Thanks Etienne, I enjoyed it a lot - and no rain! Sias and Corlia: bad luck with that puncture! Some pics.
Just chilling...with lots of high-tech talk...weight on the outside in corners...etc..
The quarry. Some played, some talked and some did not want to be photographed!
Interesting explanations of what exactly happened on the road...
Pieter played hard, got stuck, and then got unstuck with a bit of help...

Dankie Johan vir 'n puik ride.
Jou plan om te ry, te eet, weer te ry en dan verder kuier was baie slim
En dan daardie laaaaang ente reguit pad! Wow! So'n GT kan roer!

Seems we missed a very nice ride yesterday - hope all enjoyed. Always nice to look at the pictures taken of a ride one could not get to.

You’re telling me!? Those two holes (more like little cuts) were just too big to patch properly. We did it anyway and progressed another 20km before running flat again. So we phoned BMW-on-call to fetch us.
Cause: Nail on tar…
Moral of the story: Stick to the dirt roads (or go tubeless - anyone know what that tubeless conversion costs? And if it really works?)
Anyway I'm sure you guys and gals had a lot of fun. It sure was a great day for riding!

Sias, send me the waypoint where you picked up the 'nail on tar' pse. I'm ready for another ride . A nail that causes a cut?? Kom nou Bru, wie dink jy gaan jou glo? Dit was 'n skerp ou klippie man . Grappies verby, mens is darem bly daar is iets soos BMW-on-Call nę! Al moet jy soms 'n laaang tyd wag. Ons het eenkeer sowat 3h gewag, langs mielielande waar niks is nie en niemand wat stop om te help nie
WHAT NEXT!!??: Shame man, just one more then you can start supporting the Bulls with a clean conscience. I did see your blood is blue in any case, albeit under cover!

Ons het self net oor die twee ure vir hulle gesit en wag in die warm son (ek lyk soos 'n tamatie vandag ) Maar was baie verlig toe hulle opgedaag het en ons kon met ons verbrande lywe in die koel kar klim!!!

Re: Swartruggens Ride
Hi Almal
Dankie vir jul gasvryheid! Die dag was baie lekker!
Net jammer ons het nie so 'n paar aksie fotos van die deel vanaf Koster na Swarteuggens toe nie, maar ek glo nie een van ons het so 'n vinnige sluiterspoed kamera tussen ons nie!
Groete
Rudi en Estelle

From the Brit bike to the German bike brigade. Thanks for the great ride. It also certainly keeps my Afrikaans sharp- thanks for that.
