And with that, you are now a Biker (in the event that ratings matter to you)
But, as they say - if it is only a game, why do we keep score?

Aww come one!!! 0800 is not cold! That little switch on the right handlebar that has a picture of a curling tong on should make a bit of a difference?

Leave at 8:00 - get there 9:00 - reasonable brekkie time.

Finish about 10:00, which gives those wanting to go to the Cars at the Track the chance to get there at a reasonable time and then get home in time for lunch with the family...

Need to consider many avenues to include as many members as possible in our rides. Wink

MadnohB wrote:Yes 07:00 for 07:30 is much better

This was not meant as a clever remark or a joke. It was a suggestion only. Cool

Let me explain……..

When we do our own thing, we leave home 06:30 to Sasol Pinehaven for a free cup of warm stuff offered to all bikers. (Think Bike/Sasol Pinehaven initiative) From there we leave 07:30 for breakfast.

Pros

- Nice fresh early morning air
- Very few cars on the road
- No rush or queues for the coffee/hot chocolate
- No rush at any of the breakfast venues
- Hartebeespoortdam Valentino Rossi’s are still asleep hence absent
- Back home not later than 11:00 (round trip about 250km)

Cons

- Can be a bit chilly
- Other group members not too keen to get up early on a Sunday
- If you ride with a dark visor, it’s still a bit dark at 06:30

All good and well - tend to agree with you on the early time - but you dont have to get your pillion rider there so early. Takes some browny points and fancy footwork to get that right. LeRoy

Yes i agree. But it is a good venue for a family to come with. We may have to club together and have the wives and siblings ride together.

Dave,
Have you decided where you are going to have breakfast yet in Magalies?
Hornbill is OK, just the service is very S-L-O-W !
Shaun and I would like to meet you guys in Magalies and then join the group to Swartkops.

Bikes in the Park & Run to Magaliesburg Empty Breaking news...

Post by Richard H 25th July 2008, 21:04

Neutral The motorcycles part of Cars at the Track seems to have fallen by the wayside since the previous coordinator stepped down.

So I don't see us exhibiting this year - we can enjoy a breakfast run instead and then go by Zwartkops and cyclops at some great cages afterwards!

Perhaps next year...? Rolling Eyes

The club won't be exhibiting, but if individuals with older machines want to display (their motorcycles, of course) just be there by 09:00 and stay until 15:00 or you will be required to pay.

I spoke to the organiser of CARS in the PARK today and told him our club would not attend due to the above - He was very surpised that there is such a rumour doing the rounds.

Apparently everything is as always

By the way Cars in the Park is a registered name by the POMC and cars at the track or cars / bikes at the track or cars / bikes in the park is not the correct name by which this event is known as

Perhaps the arrangements between POMC and our club should be put on a better footing for next year. At present, it's a little one-way and since it was moved from Silverton, we have actually not been invited, but have come of our own accord. I'll take it to the Committee to take it up with the POMC Committee.
