Re: Non-stop LT trip
Interesting article that I read on the LT. An owner of a BMW shop in the States did a trip across America on an LT towing a trailer that was filled with fuel. That is a distance of 3500km non stop. You could only do a trip like that on a bike like the LT. www.motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/122_0808_bmw_k1200_lt_motorcycle_rider/index.html

Redbull.....if that doesn't keep you up then nothing will! But then he must have exchanged the seat on the LT for a toilet, or maybe fitted a sidecar and porta-potty

Re: Non-stop LT trip
I wondererd about the toilet. Suppose you just let go and wash your riding gear after the trip. (or throw it away)

Re: Non-stop LT trip
Question is - why would you want to do it - non stop - the stopping is part of the trip. But yes i presume the LT would be suitable for this type of abuse.
You all can Yapp on as musch as you like - next time we travel and i sit back and relax in the wind - i will be thinking of you.

Re: Non-stop LT trip
What do you get when you have 32 LT (Light Truck) fanatics in a room.
A FULL SET OF TEETH :
The LT employs just the right amount of technology with a dose of old-fashioned simplicity to allow the rider to focus on the experience and not the machine.
Ergonomically designed to simultaneously adjust the suspension, seat height, programmable CD player, seat temperature and satellite navigation system............ All this while sipping on a margarita.

day 1, lesson 1 of forum ethics.........
"as jy off-topic wil str@nt praat, doen dit in jou eie post"
and if you are really, r-e-a-l-l-y looking for trouble, start to be offencive about someone elses bike
.......if that’s your fetish, search elsewhere – there are lots of “str@nt praat” forums available where one can insult to your heart's desire........and this is not one of them

I agree LeRoy, allthough it is not what a bike was built to do, if I have to do it, I will also choose a LTLeRoy Olivier wrote:But yes i presume the LT would be suitable for this type of abuse.

Re: Non-stop LT trip
At last a bit of sanity prevails. Must admit we have travelled extensively with Andre over the years and he has seen what the LT can take and do.
Must still add - you can yapp on as much as you like about my LT ("Light Truck" - just hope Elsabe never sees this) - but IMO it is still the best bike out and i will again buy the LT. This light harted bantering is all part of the dinamics on this forum.
It provides all i want - in lieu of traveling, packing space - even for daily commuting - which i do 5 days a week.

Re: Non-stop LT trip
LeRoy, meant as a bit of banter. Pleased to see you took it up the right way. (Lesson 2 in forum ethics) It would appear that it flew straight over the heads of others. Let the truth be known: I'm jealous. If I could afford a Light Truck, it would be my first choice. Still cheaper than a tractor for my farm. This is another joke in case others take it up wrongly.
Madnohb, I'm trying to imagine you with a personality.
Admin, when you read this, please separate into Technical and Banter

Re: Non-stop LT trip
Then start out with a second hand one - with low mileage - that is how i did it. Bought a 1999 model in 2004, traded it in 2007 on the new model.
Must admit you are quite right with regards to the bantering/humor - it is sometimes taken up completely wrong. Incidently - not a margeurita - rather Johny Walker Black Label, althouth you do tend to spill the ice in the twisties.

Re: Non-stop LT trip
well if the shoe fits...........
lesson 3 - you have to earn the right to banter
very important - if unsure refer to lesson 1
and you are right, I'm just a common biker

Re: Non-stop LT trip
you're excused.
Most bikers wear a size 14 shoe and a size 3 helmet.

Yes and somehow those size 14's both fits very well in their mouth.
