Bad omen ?
Decided last week to do a quicky to Harties and surrounds, haven't been there for ages for various reasons.
In any case, cruising with some ABBA convincing me that the "Amstel's free, take a chance on me (at least that is what I chose to hear " past Lesedi, when suddenly SILENCE .. music gone, engine gone, lost all power ... Was intersting for a bit to slow down from slightly above the speedlimit to the side of the road without assistance in the breaks etc .. called home, explained how to put on the towbar, hitch the 2M and a while later the bike was home. Monday the small baterry problem was fixed between Lenny and Pauli and all is happy.
So today I go again, moving past the Hartbeeshoek road to clean the cobwebs, turn right toward the pass to Magalies, after the 1st couple of twisties suddenly the bike is not handling well ... flat rear ... OMG .. always a 1st time to use the emergency punture repair kit ... Luckily a guy with A GSXR stopped to help the noob .. any event, made it home without a problem ... so this week is new tyres and anotehr set of gas cannisters-week... Also need to keep the leatherman under the seat, my little kit didn't haev a blade in to cut the plug and a tool to pull out the stuck screw would be handy as well ..
Questions is: Am I tempting fate next week with the K-run

Nah - they say things run in three's. You still got a week to have something else happen - so go trip over the dog or something and start a clean slate!!
If you have another breakdown with the K-run at least you will have lots of peeps to help you.

Re: Bad omen ?
There'll only be a third if you stop counting...
BTW, I used my mini-compressor after the GS training run last Sunday to up the tyre pressures for tar and it works very well thank you. No little soda water cartridges for me - you can't half-empty them.

Re: Bad omen ?
Bad omen?.......nah, don't think so.
Reading between the lines, it seems that some work was done involving the bike's battery very recently?..................me thinks the bike is not quilty here
The flat rear........if it makes you feel any better, until June this year, I was convinced that only others get punctures and that it was enough prevention just to carry the repair kit with.
Not true…….had my first puncture in ………a lot of km's on the road

Re: Bad omen ?
No bad luck. I had only done 500km's on the new LT when I picked up a nail in Soutpansbergweg and as the new bikes dont have a toolkit of any descriptiuon, Bavaria had to come and pick me up. We then had the new tyre plugged, but had to replace it at 5000. Lost at least 8000kms on the tyre. So i now once again carry a toolkit, puncture kit and small compressor around with me.
