Rolling Eyes So...the Clubfest has come and gone.

We had a great time and I discovered just how versatile the BMW R1200 GS is as a motorcycle...!
On a single motorcycle, without changing tyres (or even tyre pressures!) I did the following:
On Friday afternoon I rode a relaxed 340kms on tar from home to the Welkom Inn, where I unpacked my panniers and checked in for the night.

On Saturday, I rode out to the Phakisa Freeway track.
I rode ten or so laps at a hundred-and-plenty, scrubbing the tyres right to the edge.
After a quick cold drink, I set off with three other riders and rode a mixed tar + dirt route of 150kms or so out to Ventersburg, Hennemann and back.
The track was open again for the second bike session, so I did some more track time before hitching a ride in a track car with a Durban Car Club member.
Back to the hotel for rugby and party time at a local dive...
Sunday was a workday for me as I presented the Treasure Hunt (with much prior assistance from local residents, the Hattons).
At the track again, I was able to get some more rounds in on the bike (and in a Gauteng Car Club member's car.) Shocked
After prize-giving, it was back to the hotel for all-round party time and eating out...
(I had a 500g fillet sosatie with chips for only R33!)

Monday morning it was pack the GS and ride 340kms home again.

All in all, I had great fun...!
(I need to source photos - I didn't have a camera with me)

Very Happy

The success of any event is measured by the number of attendees, and in this case the number of club members from the different clubs that attended.
The question that begs for being asked - How many of our club members attended this first event?.
I think this is a noble venture - i however dont think it will be well attended by members to the north of the Jukskei - to far to travel?????
