Road Hazards Mpumalanga Empty Road Hazards Mpumalanga

I have just been on a trip to the lowveld with my brand new GS. A great trip, but with two nasty expieriences which I would like to warn my fellow riders about. The Skurweberg pass from Machadodorp toward Badplaas has been re-surfaced at some stage, and the bad work has now left a layer of loose gravel on the road. Nasty, very nasty if you hit this whilst going into a bend. I was lucky to stay on, but another BMW rider was not so lucky on this same road. Came off with some bad damage. Apparently the rider was OK.
The second spot was just before Dullstroom on the way from Lydenburg. It was getting a bit late and I hit a huge and nasty cutout on the road which made myself, my partner, and myself go airborne for a few seconds. I was really worried that I damaged my bike, but lucky again!
This spot has no warning signs - beware! Still can't believe roadworkers just cutting out a piece of road, and leave no warnings or barriers? No No No No

That was what we also encountered on the road between Groblersdal and Stoffberg on the Dunkeld ride - large parts of the roadsurface was cut out to probably fix in the far to distant future.

I suppose this is what we will have to contend with if we travel on the byways. Glad you made it and thank you for the warning. The road between Dullstroom and Lydenburg is commonly known to be in a bad state of repair.
