Compulsory age ???

Good to be able to see if and when it is a member's birthday and I believe that should be compulsory.

Question is, should it be compulsory to add the year of birth and for the age to be displayed as part of the ID info on a post?

I would much rather see what bike/s someone is riding instead of their age and besides that, some people might be sensitive about their age.

Futhermore, as long as the existing members don't alter their profile, this will only be applicable to new forum members ..........again, it does not feel right to me.

Forcing you to do it where you have no choice becomes a bit 'invasive'.

Totally agree - wasnt the intention to force the year of birth.
But will be great if members do register with day/month of birth.

Year of birth is not important, but day and month would be nice. That way we will know when it is someone's birthday and congratulate them !!!

I think it should be compulsory that you add what bike(s) you ride. I am very proud of the bikes I have so I added them as my signiture. It would be nice if it can be a standard field in the user's profile. I know that on the WildDog forum, when you register they have a drop-down list of bikes, and you HAVE to choose a bike.

I see ADMIN tried something: Go back to your profile and find the MY BIKE section. See if it works?

ADMIN also thinks year of birth can never be compulsory . . and it seems it's not only a female thing . .
It's not compulsory with registration anymore - so those who want to delete year of birth may do so. But please leave (or add) day & month??

At least I am a very young 87 (and still very hot - even in the shade) . Did you see Rejuvenated's age........ Therefore I am not the oldest on the forum.

And we have been trying so hard to rid the Beemer product line and this club of its old fogey image, and now we have a members already pushing 90 plus.

Originally you did not have to add it - this was only changed about a week ago. However, if you wish to make any change in your profile you can only do it if you enter your date of birth including the year.
