Ghost cops in JHB

Post by DaveS on 1st March 2010, 16:07

Be aware of these guys on the Red Hyabusa's on the satellited road.

Lifted from another forum:

Fines as follows:

GEEN nr plaat R1000.
Illegal size nr plaat R500

Beware. The Mogale Metro guys now have three Hayabusa's with which they patrol the Sattelite road, Hekpoort and Magalies area. They will be there every weekend from now on.

We found out today the hard way Stirpot

The guy was friendly in the end. Told us they had complaints about the bikes riding like hooligans, endangering other peoples lives. Knocking of mirrors was also mentioned.

They do not trap, but check licences, nr plates, tyres etc etc. He said they are not going out to nail the bikes. But if you ride without a licence or unroadworthy bike you will have to deal with it then.

We saw a Triumph Rocket that went down, rider was ok. R1 on back of bakkie that went down, not sure about rider.

So he told us "Guys enjoy yourselfs, BUT keep it safe, and keep the bikes LEGAL" They are not too worried about speed, so not to worry about traps he said.

They are not stationery at a certain point. They ride up and down and mix in with the other bikes. We thought it was a normal biker with a reflecting vest.

So Be warned if you see this Hayabusa.

Wondered when they were going to do this - now the question that begs asking - will they also be acting against the cage drivers who drive around without number plates, speeding, ilegal number plates, and the list goes ons

Yes - believe the Busa will eat dust if one looks at the specs and performances.

With me on my BM it probably will compete Rolling Eyes

I think there was a run done between the two and the Busa struggled to keep up.

See this link:

The S1000RR took all 3 runs! Twisted Evil Wink

From what i heard the Beemer topped the Busa on true speed with about 5 to 10 km/h on top end.

The latest Superbike mag has an article on a modified Busa that can run to 357km/h. Not even turbo charged either. That is quick. I suspect that the S1000RR is going to be the superbike this year. It is stunning, and amazingly fast (for a BMW)(Note what I ride) and the tuners have not even started with it yet. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha have some serious catching up to do this year. Laughing
